Trees cut for books

Hi! I am writting an essay on technology in education and I am trying to make a point in favour of using laptops insted of traditional textbooks. Is my point well articulated below?

If laptops replace books, we can benefit the environment because the number of trees cut down for books will be reduced or : fewer trees will be cut down for paper

There is another problem. You say that if laptops do something, then we can do some other thing. That is illogical, and it sounds like it. If Carlos brings his ladder, we can clean the rain gutters. That makes sense. You should say something like "If lapt

Electronic books, (eBooks) which can be read on iPads, laptops or even smartphones, do not require paper which is made from trees. For every ebook that is purchased, trees are saved.
