Trees begin to bud. Grass begins to shoot or sprout?

Hi,

Spring has come.
Trees begin to bud.
Grass begin to sprout or shoot ? Which one is good?
Here by grass, I mean the grass that once grew and withered last year.
So I can see withered and green grass mixes together.

Thank you very much!
