In the past Transportation has meant traveling distances by foot, primitive boats or by using animals. However, today we use many different modes of Transportation. 02br 02br 00 Previously man has produced crude boats out of hollowed out trees, created shoes out of animal hide, and have trained animals to be ridden or used to power wagons. Many Native Americans would cut down large diameter trees and the hollow out half of them and use it to transport them across water while fishing, gathering rice or to search for new land. After killing an animal, they would use the hide to construct moccasins for there feet. The simple shoes protected their feet when they were transporting goods by foot for short distances. For greater distances, trained animals pulled large carts and wagons across land and shallow rivers. Some of these animals were trained to be ridden. As time passed and man evolved, so did his means of Transportation. 02br 02br 00 The evolution of man and his desire to travel has produced new, modern means of transportation. Large fiberglass and metal boats have replaced wooden boats. These boats are capable of transporting large quantities of cargo and personal to almost anywhere accessible by water. For traveling short distances, man now could walk on comfortable shoes made of rubber, or he could also ride a bike. To transport longer distances man has replaced animal driven wagons with mechanically powered automobiles. Automobiles allow you to go short and long distances quickly. For even faster transportation across very long distances, there are airplanes and trains. Airplanes can take you anywhere in the world. This makes transporting goods and people to remote locations very easy. Trains are excellent for getting across country fast. 02br 02br 00 In today’s world, the definition of Transportation is not only the act or instance of transporting but also in which means you transport by.0-
