Transmission of Wahab's book

Hello friends,
"The transmission of Wahab's book after the death of Ahmad was essentially static, rather than organic. There was a single text, and nothing significant, not even allegedly abrogated material, could be taken out nor could anything be put in."

What is the meaning of "essentially static, rather than organic" in the above text? I've heard static and dynamic together before but haven't heard static and organic together, are organic and dynamic the same thing?

Static means unchanging. Upon transmission the content was literally copied verbatim. Transmissions (especially before the printing press was invented) can be organic in nature.

  • Every copy was done by hand, and no two copies were alike, so the text slowly changed over time.
