I am currently translating a study manual for a (previously) Dutch course. In this manual, students are given assignments to build electronical circuits.
The problem lies in which tense I should use. Most scentences are as follows:
Build the circuit shown in figure 1-5.
I assume that 'build' should be in present simple, thus it should be written as build, and not as built.
Could you please help me out of this dilemma?

If these are instructions telling people what to do, then sentences like "Build the circuit..." are appropriate.
However, "Build" is actually an imperative, which is a different concept from the ordinary present tense ("I build", "he builds", etc.). The imperative takes the same form as the verb infinitive.
