Translation of "APRON" in this context

Dear teachers,

I'd like your help on the right translation of "apron" into Spanish in this context:

"Warehouse & Maintenance building paving apron by building sub-contractor"

It's not where the vehicles park, nor where they travel, but the area off to the side. I'm more used to seeing it used with airports/hangars/runways than other types of buildings. You could probably call it a parking area without a big loss in meaning.

Thanks, you are right. Now, I have to find the best rendering into Spanish. "Parking lot" alone wouldn't make it clear in Spanish.
