Translation of an internship reference GER - ENG - help please!

Hello everyone,I am currently applying at an american university to spend a semester there. We were asked to send them some kind of reference in english, so i'm trying to translate a german internship reference and i need your help!This is what i have translated so far:To whom it may concern:XXX worked from 28.06.2010  until 03.09.2010  as a trainee in the editorial department of our  publishing house.   The publisher  produces the monthly city magazine XXX, XXX at the  beginning of each semester, as well as the Gastro-Guide XXX and  different, topic oriented special issues. With the online platform  XXX we are represented on the internet.XXX's area of responsibility  mainly included the assistance in the editorial department of XXX,  the magazine for XXX. Furthermore she supported the  editorial department with the production of special editions such as  XXX. During her internship XXX gained broad insights into the central areas of editorial work.     She was concerned with the writing of  articles, the research on the telephone, the internet and on outside  appointments and the assistance in the picture department.     She conducted interviews, wrote  portraits, articles and announcements for our publications XXX an XXX. For the latter she independently supervised the kids  department after a prior consultation with the editor.What do you think? and approached every given task dynamically. She became acquainted with various topics in detail and made a convincing impression due to her accurate and conscientious approach to work.

She fulfilled the given tasks to the utmost satisfaction of the editorial department. The editorial staff hold her in high regard. Her behavior toward supervisors and colleagues was always impeccable.

For her further career we wish *** all the best.

I am especially unsure about the underlined parts... :/
and there's a repetition of "approach" in the 2. and 3. sentence - maybe there's a more elegant way of putting it?

I suggest (and I don't think 'tackled' is too informal):

*** fit herself very well into the working routines of the editorial department and tackled every task enthusiastically. She became acquainted with various topics in detail and her accurate and conscientious approach to work made a distinct impression on us. She fulfilled her assignments to the utmost satisfaction of the editorial department. Her behavior toward supervisors and colleagues was always impeccable, and the editorial staff hold her in high regard.
