Translating one phrase.

Hi. I'm Polish and I'm translating subtitles (Mad Men 5x05). Lane and his wife - British emigrants in USA are watching match with their friends. They are talking about England, footbal. One of the friends asks Lane about his opinion. His wife answers that he is in the middle of a messy divorce with Great Britian. Then Lane says: "I dare to say my blood's running now." (everybody laughs). Could you help me understand this phrase? What does he mean? Please tell me it in other words. I'd be grateful Emotion: wink.
