Translating a short story

I was always depressed when I was sixteen. Because Grandfather had so many grandchildren, he could only take care of his grandsons, and he would only teach the boys POG Taiwanese poem. However, I did the best I could under the circumstances. While he was teaching, I would stay by the door listening and learning the poems by myself.
