Translating a book need help correcting the english please?

Could you please help me correct these sentences please?

1 “This is the last breath you will ever take” he said, tackling him as if he was a piece of steak a dog was after.

2 If I read the schedule properly, you're scheduled to work next week.

3 One out of 5 people are bound to succumb to temptation within the first week of quitting.

4 His way of life seems contradictory/paradoxical. He like's to help people financially yet he's a compulsive gambler.

5 Can you find a place to shower/take a shower?

Something a character says in book:

6 He's so cheap with everyone but his wife. What's the most money he's ever given you? Money is there to be spent not kept. God should have made someone who's willing to spend that money rich. People for some reason make money not to spend it. Do you get that.
