Translated letter of motivation

Hello,
a friend of mine who is a painter is applying for a scholarship at a Swiss university and asked me to translate her letter of motivation.
Could you please have a look at it and point out any mistakes?
The letter:
Dear xxx,
I would like to apply for a scholarship to study in the Design & Kunst / Kunst & Vermittlung programme at your school. Your university has mainly attracted my attention for its high quality and the large variety in the work of your students.
I am a third-year student at the School of Traditional Painting Techniques led by Zdenek Beran.
From a realistic painting style I have now moved towards a more expressive approach. At the same time, I am also open to media other than painting, such as drawing, photography or objects, since different expressions call for different forms. However, painting has so far remained the most natural means of expression to me.
I would appreciate having an opportunity to work in a different setting - in another country/culture - for some time. That could enable me to see things from different angles, in a different light and incorporate the experience in my work.
I have already visited Switzerland and grown fond of the country very much, which is also one of the many reasons why I have chosen your school.
Yours sincerely,
