transitive verbs

we just started the topic in class n am arriving at this : would I be right to say that the predicate in a sentence will determine whether the verb is a Monotransitive or ditransitive.....?

Yes, I suppose so, but that is pretty much a truism: it does not help any.

Not always. A ditransitive verb can have one object. See this list. h
