Transit

When you transit through a destination does it mean you're only passing by it and not staying overnight?

Thanks.

Hi, When you transit through a destination does it mean you're only passing by it and not staying overnight? You are just passing through the place. I suppose you could arrive late, stay the night, and continue your journey the next day.
