I have to make a compound and complex sentences using the above two sentences.

1. Because he heard the explosion, he telephoned the police. (complex)

2. After he heard the explosion, he telephoned the police. (Complex)

3. He heard the explosion, so he telephoned the police. (compound)

4. He heard the explosion and therefore he telephoned the police. (compound)

5.Because of hearing the explosion, he telephoned the police. (simple)

6. After hearing the explosion, he telephoned the police. (simple)
