Transcript Again: “Hi, Sam—Joe. Nice to meet you.”

“Hi, Sam—Joe. Nice to meet you.”

How would you punctuate this sentence? Joe is saying to Sam, “Hi, Sam. I’m Joe.” Does the em dash create the desired effect? If not, what do you suggest without a recast?

Thanks.

Thanks, Clive. That's certainly much better.
