Transaction close

Hi,



The following sentences are from the media. Note how they treat ‘transaction close’ and ‘deal close’ as nouns. What I don’t understand is why they are not using any article before them.



1. Avaya and NES websites will be in place following transaction close.



2. Therefore, immediately following deal close, the enterprise blueprint should be revisited to finalize any remaining open decisions.

Hi, They are just writing in a business jargon style. Such jargon is often not 100% grammatical, or even not completely understandable by people who do not work in that area of business. Clive

A deal or a transaction is a process (of buying or selling something) that lasts for a few weeks. A deal closes means the deal is complete. Basically 'deal close' and 'transaction close' represent a point in time.
