Trailing plant

I read in a book the grape plant being called a 'traling plant', so does this mean that stem of the grape plant follows an imaginary trail because of its shape?

Top answer

It means that the plant will wander in it's growth habit, it won't keep to one definded area but will spread out in a random manner. In a way like a path or trail wanders through a forest.
