Traffic was bad because of rain

Can you help me to express the following sentences more naturally in English?

( In spoken English)

It rained buckets in Seoul today. Becuase of the heavy rain, the traffic was awful. A lot of people and cars were stranded on the road. Even the subway was stopped and I was stranded on the subway for more than 4 hours . Could you go home without any big trouble? Did anyone suffer from the rain?

It was pouring in Seoul today and because of that the traffic was awful. A lot of cars got stuck on the roads and I was stuck on the subway for over four hours. How did you get home? Has anyone had any problem because of the rain?
