Traditions

Hello

I'm wondering if it's correct to say "sports traditions", e.g.

"He was born in a family with sports traditions".

Thank You

Yes. It's correct; born into sports-minded families, children follow in their parent's footsteps across many sports, but as you've already noticed, "into" is the correct preposition with "born". He was born into a family with sports traditions.
