I agree. However, going by the definitions we can have a trail of tracks and not a track(tracks: marks left by a person, animal, or a vehicle) of trails. Tracks may or may not be successive, but it all depends on the user's assumption. A Trail also may be irregular.
I walked on the snow and left a visible trail of footprints/tracks. We followed the bear's trail/tracks.
