Track, trace, trail

Hi,

There was thick snow on the ground. I walked on the snow and left lots of footprints.
The line of many footprints form a track or trace, or trail ?

Thank you.

Thank you very much.

But I wonder whether track can be used.
In my dictionary, the track means: A mark or succession of marks left by something that has passed.
It seems to fit the context.
Do you agree?

I agree.
However, going by the definitions we can have a trail of tracks and not a track(tracks: marks left by a person, animal, or a vehicle) of trails.
Tracks may or may not be successive, but it all depends on the user's assumption.
A Trail also may be irregular.

I walked on the snow and left a visible trail of footprints/tracks.
We followed the bear's trail/tracks.
