Some parents buy their children a large number of toys to play with. What are the advantages and disadvantages for a child to have a large number of toys?
Today, the young generation is so lucky that they are bought numerous toys by their parents to entertain. Although this trend helps children a lot to some extent, it is still harmful to them.
To begin with, it is undeniable that owning so many toys is beneficial for children because it contributes to their better creativity. To illustrate this, when they have dolls, robots, toy cars and houses and teddy bears, they are likely to combine them together to invent a play or a story and then perform it. Thereby, they will become more and more creative as they are stimulated to think about interesting things to play with toys like that. Additionally, children gradually get bored when they have to play with the same toys over and over again, Accordingly, having an endless range of toys will enable them to be more immersed in enjoying the fun from this which helps them to experience a great childhood.
Nevertheless, sometimes, parents’ continuously purchase their children a huge number of toys does not give them benefits. First of all, school students will gradually create the bad habit of wasting toys. Usually, once they have a brand-new thing, they will stop using the old one and playing with the new one even though the former is used for days. Second of all, children will probably become more self-absorbed and self-important which negatively affects their personalities. Because they have been used to being pampered with numerous toys, then, one day, if their parents cease buying more stuff for them, they will cry out loud and constantly ask for more which shows that they possibly do not value what they have got. Third of all, the more toys they receive, the less connections they have with real people. Children still need true love from real friends, siblings and parents. Hence, there is no good for them spending plenty of time playing with man-made things instead of their peers who are more exciting.
To summarize, children’s creative ability will be provoked and have more blast when being provided a wide range of toys. However amazing it is, this trend causes them to be self-centered and not appreciative of things and real people.
