Tough SV Question

Viewers come in contact with two adjacent film projectors through which passes a single loop of film. (Singular because there is only one loop of film.)

or

Viewers come in contact with two adjacent film projectors through which pass a single loop of film. (Plural because the action of going through the projectors occurs twice.)

Just concentrate on what the subject and verb are. Don't consider other things.
Then you should be able to decide which sentence is correct.

By 'Viewers come in contact with', do you mean 'Viewers touch'? Sounds odd.

In both cases, the subject of the clause is the singular word 'loop'
Whether the loop passes through the projectors once or one hundred times makes no difference.
