Touches

She is asleep. He brings his hand so close to her ring that her hand almost touches his.

Her hand is passive and un-moving there, so is it okay to say that "her hand almost touches his," even though it is his hand that's doing the touching by him bringing it towards hers? Or is it the same difference, as they say?
