Touch Location in Dark L

When we pronounce dark L, the back part of the tongue is raised towards the roof of the mouth, but it does not touch the roof, right? However, the back part of my tongue touches the back of a part of my upper teeth, molars. So when we pronounce dark L in help, film, heal, etc, the back part of the tongue does not touch the roof, but it is okay to touch the back of upper teeth?

What do you native English think and how you do it?

Thank you so much as always and have a good and safe day.

And it means your tongue also touches molars when you pronounce those words like film, heal ,etc, right?

Yes. I think it's a leftover from the tongue position of the vowel. Emotion: smile
