0 I'd normally say "touch base" with somebody. But then others may have a different opinion on this. 0-

0 It's more common to use it as in "I'm going to go home and touch base for a while" I think. 02br

00Using it for simply meeting someone it a bit of a silly extension of the meaning, in my opinion, but used in that way I should say either "touch base" or "touch bases" could crop up. 0-

I guess you can choose anything you'd like, but if you want to be correct you may consider using "Touch Base". Please see http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/touchbases.html or read the book: Common Errors in English Usage by Paul B

No gotta be "touch base". You dont each have a personal base you are touching together. You meet at one communal base to update each other with information.

Its actually extremely common in North America to say "We will touch base" or i will touch base with you" meaning you will follow up with someone or contact them at a later time.

I have never heard anyone saying "I'm going to go home and touch base for a while"- that is definitely incorrect.

Touch base is definitely correct. Think of baseball...it's impossible to touch 2 bases at the same time.

It's a figure of speech. It doesn't have to make sense. The common usage in America is "touch bases". For example, "I'm writing just to touch bases with you about ......" - However, it actually does make sense that way, since there may be multiple things (bases) that you want to update (or be updated about) with the other person. To "touch bases" means to keep in contact about event
