It is totum for sure. I'm reading a book on Lacanian psychoanalysis. Here is where I encountered the word:

After the transition to the mirror stage, the infant more obviously identifies and interacts with the primary caretaker whose imago (=stereotype image) is introjected as a perceptual totum.

"Totum" is Latin for "whole". The Lacanians have apparently borrowed the word for their own purposes. It must be defined somewhere in their doctrine. For now, just read "whole" when you see "totum".
