I dont speak English very well, either do I write it well, though I understand almost all you say!

Last month, I visited Rome. Never been to eternal city, the trip became a turning-point in my 55 miserable years, despite Norwegian Fiords and snowy mountains ;-)

q 1): Is is proper to say about ducks:

The mallards were paddling about in the pond infront of me (...)

q 2):Is this usable use of amenable:

Porta Santo Spirito, todays last tourist-attraction, is a amenable backdrop to the heavy traffic on (....)
