Computers play an important role in the modern world. It is hard to imagine how modern life without them. In my point of view, computers bring convenience and easiness to our life since they enable easier access to information and increase qualities of the communication.

For one thing, computers are really a big help for scientists to calculate and analyze the perplexing data, which is a strenuous and time-consuming task, saving a large amount of time and making the right decisions. For two examples, first, by using the kind of highly dynamic computing system, we make it possible to make mobile communication systems operate normally, involving tremendous amount of data exchange every second between customers on opposite ends of the earth. Second, weather forecasting system needs to process data both from satellites and land-based observation stations in order to come up with convoluted models to predict the weather. Clearly, computers have efficiently helped us solve binary floating point arithmetic for microprocessor systems, which requires strong ability of handling, high speed of calculation, and which is beyond the reach of human ability to calculate.

For another thing, computers have made our education easier. Students use computers to play games, watch movies, listen to music, and do their homework. Nowadays, people simply enter keywords on search engine such as Google, Sohu to look for solutions to their puzzles, collect useful stuff data, or absorb knowledge. They have partly changed the way people in the past usually consulted a number of books about the subject in the library. Now, with the help and application of computers, we have more diversified and efficient ways, like distance education, to receive education.

Last but not least, the innovation of computerized social medias, like e-mail and instant messaging softwares, make the most convenient and shortcut way of intercommunication. They work through the Internet which is a large set of computer networks to communicate with each other. Without the populization of computers, people cannot utilize these kinds of softwares to increase the efficiency of communications among people. Therefore, the invention of computer enhance people’s living style.

All in all, computers help people advance by strides in science and technology progressive. With above explanations, I assert that computers really promote the well being of mankind.
