Top bed, down bed, below bed

Hi,

We have a double bunk bed.

I usually call "Top bed" to mean the the bed on the top and I call "below bed" to mean the lower bed.

I wonder if this is correct. I also wonder if I can say "I sleep upstair" to mean I sleep on the top bed and "I sleep downstair" to mean "I sleep on the below bed".
