I believe it has to do with finding meaning in life.

Some people feel they are destined to do some particular thing, and they just need to find out what it is.
It's not necessarily a real location. It's figurative - like a cog in the wheel.

Perhaps you know the West Side Story tune, There's A Place For Us.
Well, maybe this one's talking about a real place.
