TOO formal?

When I write things casually, I tend to be loose on grammar, make it NORMAL, and when I write stuff during exams, I tend to write TOO formally. Could you please tell me how I can rectify that?

Thanks

Bring up the grammar level of your "normal" English. It will become more natural for you, and you can use it in formal settings more naturally. "Normal" is relative.
