'tonight' used in a wrong way?

Dear Users,

I think we need to keep thinking/discussing what to do tonight.

I guess most people would assume that the sentence carries the meaning of plans that the speaker/s have, what they want to do tonight. How to avoid being misunderstood if the intended meaning of tonight here was simply the time when they have to talk about some other things, or decisions that are to be taken in the nearby future?

Thanks
