Tonight I chatted with nice and kind Christians from America and Canada

Hi,

Tonight I met a group of kind Christians from America and Canada in a park. It was hot and humid and drizzling, but they didn't seem to be bothered. They sang religious songs and tried to invite local people to have fun with them. I talked to them but now I think I didn't speak very fluently and correctly then. So I'd like to write it out and maybe next time I'll communicate with them better. Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.

I don't know why, but it was my wrong concept when young that I thought the U.S.A had an evil scheme to take over the world by persuading people around the world to attend its churches, to be baptized, and to be its citizens.

After I attended many Bible studies and met lots of missionaries, I know I was wrong in the past. I knew many Christians all went through many hardships and had touching stories before they were baptised and became pious and loving people. It's Jesus Christ's love that moves these once-unhappy and unfortunate people and guides them to the right way. Now they are full of love and are willing to sacrifice their time and life to help others to become really happy and return to heavenly Father's side.

Thanks, Mister, for your reply.

Can you be kind enough to correct the mistakes or the unidiomatic parts in what I wrote?

Dear Angliholic

I read your post but couldn't think of any thing to say except: it is a very good description

In English, there is nothing to correct!

It is right to question people who have religious beliefs. I am not a church-goer myself - but you explained it very well to me

With best regards, Dave

Thanks, Dave, for the reply and kind words.

But I'm not sure if I follow you when you said "it's right to question people who have religious beliefs." Did you refer to my once suspicious mind about America's scheme? If yes, then I've got it.

Everytime I tried to write something in English, I encounter some problem. The line in bold in the post doesn't sound right to me. Ho

Hi

Yes, in part, I was answering...

- Did you refer to my doubts and suspicions about some American religious groups?

But I think I also meant something more general. It is sometimes thought that, if a person becomes part of a religion, then they lose the ability to question ideas. I don't believe that is so: there are many religions that question their own idea
