Speech & Pronunciation

Tonic transcription

I need to do my pronunciation homework and I have found it really difficult. I need to recognize tonic syllable pre-head, head, tail and tone (fall,rise etc). I did it twice and I my answers were wrong. Perhaps you could help me a little. Here is the recording of sentence.

Anonymoustonic syllable pre-head, head, tail and tone (fall,rise etc).
Maybe people don't know what these terms mean. That's why no one has answered.

You have a rise on "lunch", but other than that, I don't know what you need here. I can understand why you think it's difficult.

This terminology (conceptual structure) belongs to the British school of Intonation.

Pre-head + head + tonic syllable + tail = tone unit

pre-head = everything upto the first stressed syll

head = from the first stressed syl upto the tonic syllable

tonic syllable = where ya see the tone

tail = everything after that

She is not + Staying for the +
