In 9th grade, each of us was assigned to form a group in advance to give an oral presentation of a special topic report. When my turn came, though I had memorized the transcript thoroughly, I still forgot the part of speech a lot during our presentation. When I stood on the stage, I remained tongue-tied for a long time. I was so nervous that my legs kept shaking and my speech was incoherent. Though I goofed up the presentation, I’ve learned about how to be rigorous, how to work in a team, and how to operate under tight deadline pressures and balancing priorities.
