Tone in a conditional sentence: what's a difference

1 If you go online (rising) you’ll see some stuff they’ve done.

2. If you go online (falling) you’ll see some stuff they’ve done.

3. If you go online (no tone) you’ll see some stuff they’ve done.

Maybe 1 & 2 indicates that you must go online if you add tone? And going online is optional in sentence #3 as there are papers and telly.

2 doesn't make any sense to me. 1 is pretty standard with a fall after the rise. 3 is probably what happens when you're talking fast.

  • None of them has anything to do with "must" or "optional".
