Toilet

Hi,

I am reading Nick Hornby's new book, Juliet, Naked, and I am not sure I understand the very beginning of it:

There are two people, a guy and a girl, they are British, they are in a restroom in the United States. This restroom is famous because some singer "disappeared" there.
Here is an extract (the girl is the first to speak):

"What do you want a picture of?"
"Just, you know ..."
"No."
"Well ... the toilet."
"What, the ... What do you call those things?"
"The urinals. Yeah."

I am not sure: is she making fun of him because he didn't use a good word, or is she wondering what the exact name is, and he just answers?

Thank you for your help!

He seems a bit coy about explaining exactly what he means, and needs a bit of prompting, but I don't get the impression she's making fun of him as such.
