TOEIC/ what or how

(A) When Jason visited Bear Lake, it was quite (B) a bit different (C) from it was a year (D) ago.

I know I need to add something on after 'from'. Will it be 'how' or 'what'? Please advise.

I'd add 'what', not 'how'.

Hi Yankee,

Could you explain to me why "what" should be used? Is there a rule? If so, I want to learn.

Thanks.
