TOEIC, TOEFL or IELTS

I'd like to do the TOEFL but a friend of mine told me that IELTS is an exam from a prestige University in GB and is better. but a third important exam exists the TOEIC.

I would like to know what is the best exam to do. and why?

All are high quality examinations. TOEFL is more universally accepted, but it depends on whether you are applying for work or university-- these will specify their requirements. If you are planning to study at UCLA in the USA, for instance, you'll need TOEFL; if you are thinking of immigrating to Australia, you'll need IELTS.
