Proficiency Tests & Test-taking

TOEIC textbooks

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a TOEIC text book on par in difficulty with the Oxford TOEIC? I am not a fan of Barrons.

Thanks in advance

Hi Andy. Probably not a helpful answer, and certainly not a direct one: over here the bookstores stock a plethora of TOEIC, -FL prep texts, but I only use bits and pieces. I teach only by using sample/mock tests and test questions per se, not the workbook type preparation manuals.

  • By the way, I enjoyed looking at your website: it made me homesick (I lived in Victoria for about 15 years back in the 60s & 70s).

Thanks for the reply, I agree that teaching from sample tests is the best way to cover the most ground. My problem is keeping the level of difficulty at a suitable level. I find Oxford is good but need more resources at this level. Collocation heavy stuff. Also I have both Prentice Hall Practice test books. Please let me know of any others around this level.

Cheers,

Andy
