Man: I can't hear a thing in here. Let's go to another restaurant for dinner.
Woman: But Dennis, we've already ordered. The food will be here any minute.
Man: So what? We'll just tell the waiter to cancel the order.
Why does Dennis want to leave?

If he had said "We haven't heard FROM our waiter" then you could think the service was slow. But that wouldn't make sense, because they have already ordered, so obviously, the waiter has been by.
