I believe (A) is wrong. I don't think you would say 'great contribution'.

I don't like the sentence.

...with/by/through his selection as the recipient of the employee of the year award.

But given what you have to work with, "with" is my first choice and "by" is my second choice.

'Great contribution' is fine. I agree with Maple. C is wrong and 'with' would be a better word.
