TOEIC problem

I’m a South Korea student studying English for TOEIC.

Now I solve the workbook but there are problems I don’t understand.

So if you help me understand, thank you^^!!

First

No. 116

The organizer of the publicity conventions said there is still ___ work to be done, but was not concerned about meeting the deadline.

(A) many

(B) few

(C) much

(D) a lot

->>(C) is correct answer.

I know (B) is not.

But the others have similar meaning, I think.

Why correct answer is (C)?

And

No. 121

With the financial crisis over and banks eager to provide loans, it has never been ___ easy for the average person to own a home.

(A) which

(B) this

(C) some

(D) who

->>(B) is correct.

I know (A), (D) and (C) is wrong.

But I don’t get why (B) is right.

Please explain~~!!
