TOEFL test &School Visa to enter into college in America

I am presently Japanese Foreign Exchange student in American High School.
Please help me understand how and when I will need to take TOEFL exam.
I want to return to America for College and not sure how to go about beginning the
Process of coming back for College? Will I be eligible for Financial Aid?
