The reading and the lecture is about the effect of group in the organization. whereas the author of the reading passage state that working in a group will big advantage for both organization and group member, but the lecturer suggest it sometime have the negative impact on the performance of a group. The lecture cast doubt on the main points on the reading by providing the following reasons.

First of all, according to the reading, working in the group have a collective effort from all the member and it will benefit equally to every member. However the lecture dispute this point. He says that working in the group can get the result but every member does not work hard as other and some does not make any effort at all. But when the project became a success, those who did not work also get the reward.

Secondly, the reading stated that working in a group can be fast and effective. Nevertheless, the professor refutes this idea. He states that working in the group can be slow and sometimes the project even gets failed. He illustrates this idea by saying when in a group there would be lots of opinions and one or two individual can control the opinion of the group. A whole group can be control by some of the group member and their personal opinion. They can discourage another member from giving good ideas. But when the task is incomplete, responsibility goes to every member of the group. One we ware not able to work and also suggesting good idea get sold first and take the blame from failure. This could be frustrating.

In conclusion, reading and lecture both about group work, the two points made in the reading are effectively challenged by the lecturer.
