Topic:
Some people get most of their news from the radio or television. Other read newspaper. Which source of news do you think is better and why? Include details and examples in your explanation.

Essay:


For most people to be up to date with the newest situation is important. Nowadays everything goes so fast. Economics, politics, technology, even celebrities life style rapidly move. To keep up to date we can use media such as TV, radio, and newspaper.

Both TV-radio and newspaper have their own advantage. As electronic media, TV and radio are faster providing the latest info than newspaper. TV and radio always report the real time situation from the location. When they reporting an accident or homicide the reporter broadcast the news from the crime scene. We sometimes be able to watch the victim covered with blood in a murder case or crash car after an accident. Another example, Egypt's demonstration, the most interesting news on TV for the last two weeks, TV and radio make us be able to watch the real situation and what Tahrir Square is looked like with hundred thousand of people there, and also we can hear their voices. We not only be able to hear and see but also can “feel” the news. On the other side, newspaper provide a comprehensive news with an excellent data source. Newspapers also show some pictures to make the articles more interesting. The journalists dig the information, collect them, and put them together to give the complete story of a news. Even though there are so many articles in newspapers, we can chose to read only articles we like the most so we do not waste too much time.

In my opinion, TV and radio are better than newspaper in order to get the latest information. I prefer TV and radio to be in touch with the newest situation around the world rather than newspaper. Most of the time I really need to know what is happening or the progress of one hot case. Newspapers not give a real time situation because it only print once or twice in a day. I am not saying that newspapers is left behind because it also serve the latest information in the morning or late afternoon. I get most of the information from TV and radio but sometimes in order to get a complete story of a news I take a newspapers and start reading it.
