Is modern technology creating a single world culture? While many hold the view that it is not, I firmly believe that it is turning the world into a single culture place.

First, modern technology connects people from all around the world. Unlike in the past, where most individuals only had connections with people who were in the same country, people nowadays can have friends come from almost anywhere on Earth. When people from different places in the world form a friendship with each other, they have the same thoughts and have the same concerns, and the cultural and national boundary is thus getting blurred. I have a close friend in France, and we have daily conversations via Skype. Although living in different parts of the world, we do not feel any different in the way we talk or think at all.

Second, present-day technology gives people more opportunities to learn foreign languages. We now have numerous useful websites for people to pick up any language they want, especially English - the most popular language. They provide lessons and materials that dramatically simplify the process of studying a new language. Since learning foreign languages help people understand others more easily, current technology is indeed making the world a place where people have no difficulty communicating with each other, which is basically a single culture world in my opinion.

Another reason the world is having a single culture due to modern technology is that traveling is becoming easier. With the development of airplanes other means of transportation, people now find it more convenient to other places or countries. This gives way to further settlement of these people. As a result, people from many places start to live in one area, and different cultures and lifestyles are getting blended together.

In conclusion, modern technology is making the single world culture because it connects people around the world. Moreover, the developments in technology make it easier for people to learn foreign languages and travel to other places in the world.
