Hi,

It sounds odd to suggest a girl would feel like that if a cat licked her cheek.
But it suggests that she liked it.

Are you going to ask now about a snake, or a goldfish?

Clive:
I was just confused about the two seemingly contradictory meanings of "make somebody's toes curl". So, for:

"[SOMETHING] touched her. It made her toes curl."

make one's toes curl: to cause you to have a very strong and usually unpleasant feeling (such as a feeling of being embarrassed, annoyed, etc.)(taken from M-W Learner's Dictionary)

ex) Just thinking about my old boyfriend makes my toes curl.

So I guess it is usually used to expresss an unpleasant feeling.

p.s. just wondering what type of breed your dog is,

H,

I've never heard the expression used in a negative sense.

So, "to make someone's toes curl" means that someone will always feel good after receiving the action?
