Today morning we were on the phone briefly. I didn’t know I was running out of words when you said you were not free today. Sometimes I tend to think that when we are on the phone, I am kind of awkward. Then I start to confuse and I don’t know what to say.

This is not bad. I'm not quite sure what you mean by the part in bold.
