To writing

Hi,

"After Goodman's arrest it is highly unlikely that executives would have committed anything incriminating to writing." [From The Independent.]

Does the "to writing", here, mean that after the arrest the executives didn't write anything which could have implicated them criminally?

Thank you.

] Does the "to writing", here, mean that after the arrest the executives didn't write anything which could have implicated them criminally? That's the idea. If I commit something to writing, it means that iIwrite it down.

  • That's the idea.
  • If I commit something to writing, it means that iIwrite it down.
  • But the sentence doesn't mean that they didn't.
  • It means that they probably didn't.
